The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering companies like new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it can be alarmed in regards to the large number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office focused on service the area on a regular basis. The assistance issue made for intervention activities a higher inflow of probable beneficiaries, which makes it tough to the office to attend sassa to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra assets to allow the servicing of all prospects and enhance access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
